Buckeye Blossoms Quilt Guild

President Pat P. called the regular meeting of the Buckeye Blossoms Quilt Guild to order at MidPoint Library. There were 32 members and no guests present.
The Secretary’s minutes were read. Alicia R. made a motion to accept the minutes as read, seconded by Geri H. Motion passed.
Patty C. presented the Treasurer’s report. Jacque H. made a motion to accept the Treasurer’s report as presented, Peggy P. seconded. Motion passed.
Activity Committee: Gina reported that she has requested quotes from bus companies for the Shop hop in Lawrenceburg, Indiana on September 19 & 20. She has two quotes back so far, one for $800 and one for $1,250. She is still waiting for another quote. She will get more information on the date and time for Jenny Doan’s classes. More to come later.
Ginny will have more information next month on our charity quilts.
Pat asked for volunteers for the Picnic Committee. Karen and Pat volunteered.
We received a thank you letter from Abilities First for our $50 donation to their 10thAnnual Golf Classic. We also received a thank you letter from Noah Powers for volunteering as Downtown Ambassadors for the City’s First Friday event. Gina commented on the First Friday events and shops downtown and the possibility of participating again when the weather is a little better.
Peggy P. gave an update on Sam Shockey and on the raffle ticket sales. The winner will be drawn in early May. She appreciates everyone’s participation and help with selling and buying tickets.
Pat reported that Katherine D. is doing a final cleanout of her sewing room. You can call Katherine if you would like to stop by and take a look at what she has left to sell.
Tonight we are having three demos. Mary S. will demo the “No Waste Method for Making Flying Geese”. Amy P. from Valley Quilts will be demo how to use paint sticks to enhance your quilts. Pat will have the paint sticks available to try at Saturday Sew if anyone would like to try them. And Anna S. will demo a couple of methods for measuring for curved borders.
Our next meeting will be on Wednesday, May 7 and Saturday Sew will be on May 10.
