The 31st annual AQS Quilt week in Paducah, Kentucky is coming up in April 2015! Join us and thousands of other quilters as we take over of the Paducah McCracken County Convention & Expo Center and surrounding area for a week of shopping, instructing and shows by some of the best instructors in the industry. Quilt in a Day will be making our mark by hosting Sewing School Classes, A Fabric Fair Sale, El's stage show: Quilts from El's Kitchen, an Accuquilt Retreat, two big warehouse sales, extended hours at our store and more! This evening’s program is on “Setting Up Sewing Space” It’s January: A time when we attempt to act on our new year’s resolutions. It’s a time for out with the old and in with the new. For those of us who hoard fabric and thread, and resolve to make our sewing space user friendly so that we can become more productive. Our speaker for tonight’s program is our new Vice President, Ginny Draa. Ginny has been a member of Buckeye Blossoms’ Quilt Guild since 2012. She is retired educator and teaches sewing and quilting topics for guilds and other groups and at fabric and quilt shops throughout Ohio and Western Pennsylvania. She is Professor Emeritus at Youngstown State University where she coordinated programs in Family and Consumer Sciences and Fashion and Interior Merchandising. Among other things, she has taught college courses in Clothing, Interiors, Housing, Textile Science, and Applied Textile Design. Her textile and clothing designs have been recognized in juried exhibits at the national and international level. She has consulted with several museums and historical societies on their textile collections and with the Center for Historic Preservation at Youngstown State University. She is happy to be able to share with her local guild from her knowledge set about textiles, sewing and textile design with the Buckeye Blossoms Quilt Guild.
